Description

"How to Get Money for Your Startup"

A Founder's Orientation to Venture Capital

Presented by Martin Trust Center EIR Josh Forman

Wed 11/5/2014, 12-1pm, E40-160

You've come up with a brilliant idea. All you need is some money to build it, right? And the friendly neighborhood investor has an open door policy! You have it made.

But wait a minute. How sure are you about what you're building? Why is a busy investor so willing to take your meeting? In short, how and when do you fundraise?

Martin Trust Center entrepreneur-in-residence Josh Forman, co-founder of Inkling, will discuss the ins and outs of venture capital -- when and whether to raise money, how to understand a VC's motivations -- so that you know how to keep your best interests first and foremost!

Non-pizza lunch will be provided.

MIT student attendees will also receive access to a list of venture capital events. Part of the Martin Trust Center's role as an honest broker for students is that we look out for your best interests, and we also prepare you for how to handle situations with potential conflicts of interest, which this orientation will do.
